Art World Workshop for Kids

Art World Workshop for Kids

1.5 hours, two parts
An experiential art workshop for children that invites participants to step into the world of art and museums through hands-on creation. During the workshop, we talk about what art is, what artists do, and what it means to create. We read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and explore the idea that there isn’t one “right” way to make art — only the courage to begin. Each child creates a personal artwork inspired by a theme, learning how to express ideas, emotions, and stories through color and material. The workshop concludes with the creation of a small exhibition, giving children the experience of presenting their work and discovering that they, too, can be artists — while learning how art is displayed and experienced in museums and galleries.
